aside from the wheels i like it. the wheels are generic and ricey but it looks clean on bags. they are growing on me more and more. plus its a 2.slo auto... it doesnt need great handling coils, plus it seams extremely practical for this car to have drivability(fuck for any car to be able to be slammed yet drive-able). its a modest clean build and def beats the hell outta 90% of the junk they have featured. bags are just the new phase in modding cars so get use to it, i have a feeling they arent going anywhere. as your seeing the cheaper they are getting the more abundant they are becoming. ill prob be bagging my mk1 in a few yrs when i can afford it... slow diesel and slammed comfortable driving, bring it on!!

the rear fitment is spot on. too bad its a solid beam. I hate that the wheels are centered in the arches.

It's okay.....I neither love nor hate it. I'd love to see Vortex do a feature on someone's crazy build. The stuff they've done recently have all been pretty mundane.

You know they literally pull random names for this crap, right? That's why the cars are more often than not sub-par or barely projects at all...

Yep, months back I emailed Stephen@VWVortex why the AUTObiography cars are so plain sometimes and explained basically what you just said. It's not exactly random, but everyone who wants to be in the spotlight enters, and they pick who they want.

This.
Also keep in mind that these are all user submitted and are not always going to be the big dollar, crazy builds. These are the cars of true enthusiasts who are proud of their cars and what they have done to them.

To each his own really, it looks good. Being an auto 2slow what the hell ya gonna do to the thing? Its not exactly a run of the mill bolt in kit if he had to modify mk4 stuff to fit or mk5 whatever. Also :tu: on the air zenith i spy in there. I want one for Oscar.

The thing I never understood about Vortex articles...why have two articles that are pretty much one and the same? They have the "AUTObiography," and once in a while they have the "Honorable Mention." Why not just drop one or the other and focus on builds from the ground up instead of jank interviews and a few bolt-ons on a mk4? (No offense to the mk4 crowd). I mean if *I* can do a few bolt-ons, anyone can. I have the utmost respect for the dubbers that build their cars from the ground up, are innovative, and actually have something to say and take pride in what they do, because a ground-up restore is something I probably could never do; not only do I not have the time, I don't have the space or ability. If I was in charge over at VWV, I'd drop the "Honorable Mention" and make those articles the "AUTObiography." That's what the people want, as Max the Beetle would say.
