This is the official thread for the cruise up to Dubs in the Valley in Oshkosh. If you need ANYTHING changed AT ALL, notify me and I will make adjustments accordingly!
Cedar Rapids: Walmart in Marion @ corner of HWY 13 & HWY 151
CF/Waterloo: Kev's shop? (Unsure, let me know and I will change this)
QC: ????????
DSM: Not sure if any of you are going, let me know and I can change this
The above mentioned meeting places are for out of town people to gather and cruise to Dubuque. We will be meeting in Dubuque at Mystique Casino/Houlihans:
1801 Greyhound Park Drive
Dubuque, IA 52001
All of us in Dubuque will arrive there around 4-4:30, grub/drink a little, and await arrival of out of towners. We will be parked in a remote area of the parking lot outside Houlihan's farthest away from the Casino, my white CC will be there which should stand out fairly well (yay for vivid white) giving you an idea where we're gathering.
THE IDEA IS TO LEAVE BY 5:30, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO SAND BAG AND WILL BE ATTEMPTING TO SHOW UP LATE BY AN HOUR OR TWO, BE PREPARED TO RIDE UP BY YOURSELVES!!!!! Phone calls saying "I'm half way there already" at 5:29 will not be taken into consideration, as I'm sure we are all accustomed to some habits of our fellow PKGers (ahem* QC area guys), I would rather not roll into Oshkosh at midnight.
Once again, any changes in rendezvous point within towns, or a change of schedule for everyone, LET ME KNOW! I want to make this a fun cruise!

FYI. it's just over 3hr drive from D-town to Oshkosh. I like Casey's idea about chillin at Houlihans for some grub and waiting for the guys (Andy and others) that have to work late to show up. I don't have a problem getting into Oshkosh at 9pm or so

Do you guys have the correct route through Madison this time? I remember last year I believe you guys took the 151 business route THROUGH Madison... that adds a shitload of time.

I know the way... Been up through there 100 times. You DO NOT want to take 151 through town. Belt Line it baby!

When do you guys want to leave then if not by 5:30? I'm open to comments/concerns, if everyone is okay with leaving later I don't really care, I just don't want everyone to be pissed if we have to wait for that one guy that decides to start packing at 5:00 an hour away

Lets just plan on most people getting there when they can (between 5-6 it sounds like) and then leave when it's ok to. If anyone else is very late, we have each others numbers so we can communicate.

Thank you.
I saw we try to leave at 5:30...If Andy gets off work at 430, then goes home, showers and packs and is ~1.5 hours away, that puts him in Dubuque at the earliest of 7. I speak for myself that I do not want to drive most of the way in the dark....again....
I say we put a red letter leave time for departure from Dubuque at 6:30......6:30 will be the absolute latest we will wait. No "if", "ands" or "buts"...If you're not ready to go by 6:30 we will be leaving. That gives most of us an hour or so at Hoolihans to catch up and grub up a bit. Puts us into Oshkosh at 10 (pending a quick 10 minute stop or 2). Chances are, we'll get out by 6 I'm hoping. Everyone elses thoughts?

If Kev doesn't feel like leading I can always lead in my car, we have three Android phones so Navigation shouldn't be an issue

I say Kev you lead, Cody you stay somewhere in the middle/rear. That way if we get split up everyone still winds up in the correct spot

Is everyone planning on keeping their speed reasonable? I know there were a few times last yr where we were clipping along at 90+mph, it didn't bother me to much then because my car was easily capable of keeping up. I don't feel like pushing my mk2 that hard this yr... I'm looking to turn over 200k on this trip. Mr. is a little tired these days.

If I'm leading the way I will go no faster than 8mph over the posted speed limit.

FUCK YEAH IM PUMPED!!!
I just downloaded the following albums (some of multiple artists):
JLo
C+C Music Factory
Lady Gaga
Madonna
P. Diddy
Mase
Edward Maya
Frank Sinatra
Gonna bring bags for parking lot shennigans Friday/Saturday night as well as a large cooler stocked with Beer/Liquor. The hotel is a bit of a dive, but the way I look at it, if we do everything correctly, we won't remember the room much.

I also second the motion of 8 MPH over the speedlimit with perhaps a few jaunts up to higher speeds which will be promptly followed by slowing down for the rest of the crew to catch up.
I will be brining my usual detailing supplies:
Soap
ID
Wheel Cleaner
Chrome/Aluminum Polish
Bug Remover
Bucket, Bug Brush, Wheel Brushes, Mitt, etc
Wax
Window Cleaner
Shit ton of Micro Fibers
I can let someone borrow a bit if they forget. I would recommend everyone to bring their own stuff

I like your music choice dan. I will have some cleaning crap with me as well. I can also bring a 9x9 tent deal (if it will fit in the car) as well and a couple of chairs. Not sure if we will need them or not. As far as beer goes i wont have much of that. It will be the Captain for me.
Also i should be in the end of the pack unless you all want to listen to my exhaust the whole way...lol (in the process of making it a little quieter but it will be a ways down the road)

Bringing a tent was a great idea last year. If you do, make sure to bring weights to hold down the legs. That was the downfall from last year. Dont forget the banner too.
