A/C help

My A/C doesn't really get cold anymore and i had a shop evacuate and refill and checked for leaks and the exact same amount of shit went in as came out so no leaks and still no difference. which should i suspect to be the main problem? The compressor or condenser??? And this is my Mk4 jetta vr

didn't they check the high and low pressures? that will indicate a compressor problem. As far as the condenser is concerned, make sure the fins aren't mashed up and full of shit.

also make sure that your auxiliary fan is working, it should kick on with your AC. if it does not, that would also make your AC feel pretty weak, esp in town and then get cooler when your on the open highway.

really... you took it to a shop and told them the a/c wasnt working properly and all they did was fill it and say "idk"

what shop was this?

there are many things that can cause it not to function properly... all of them can be diagnosed by simply hooking up a high/low guage and monitoring pressures as it runs...
