20/30 Road Rally Cruise Ins at Jimmy's

Everyone,
This thursday is the first cruise in at Jimmy's American Cafe on 8th St in DM this event is put on by The Des Moines 20/30 Society...a charitable donation group focused on making the city better for young adults. For every person we get there Jimmy's donates $5 to the Society...money which will be donated to groups focused on enhancing all of Des Moines, past donations have gone to The Des Moines Art Center, Des Moines Music Colition, and The Center for Adult Education. Our rally last year was our largest fudraising activity. Come on down to Jimmy's and show off your ride, enjoy some good food, adult beverages, and meet some new people.

So this is just a cruise-in, correct? It looks like your actual road rally will be in September. This would be a good event for a PKG GTG. What time is it starting on Thursday night?

Also, I'm sure you guys wouldn't mind us bringing some Rally for Dyamond flyers, right? This would be a great opportunity to gather some rally participants and spread the word.

Yes DSV the rally is in September we are planning on one of these nights at Jimmy's each month from now until then. We are gunning for the third thursday of each month.

You are more then welcome to hand out some flyers for rally for dyamond if you would like.

Alright gang... it's JUNE and CRUISE IN is coming up... I put it on the calendar... not sure if it has to be accepted by someone.

Jimmy's is a pretty sweet bar with a huge patio.

We had a good turnout last month--let's get more. (Sounds like some of you need to get your wives on board)--anyone bringing your wives--first drink for you wife on me.

There... Thursday night + pretty cars + bar + first drink on promoter = Happy Wives

Canadian Club is bringing their prototype INDY cars out Thursday night to run them up and down 8th Street--they're 2-seaters and are giving rides... another thought for all you guys bringing down the wives.... give 'em a ride in an INDY car.

Not gonna lie gang, this is getting FUN!

Watching the news this morning, I saw an interview of the Canadian Club team. Indy cars are in town this week for Iowa's biggest race ever--the Indy car race out at Newton Speedway. Cars began arriving yesterday. These cars are the real thing--internationally recognized drivers and 200+ mph speeds are bringing this event to national television.

Canadian Club Indy prototypes will be out at Jimmy's American Cafe on Thursday night. I don't know how many are going to show, but we usually hold 30-40 spaces... Let me know if you're coming so I know if we should hold more!!! And yah, these cars aren't just for show--they're the 2-seater protos (like an F-14 Tomcat, yow!)--perfect for putting your gal in the cockpit and letting her hair get all messyyyyy.

Officially, cars should begin arriving at around 5:30. Make a night of it--with a meal and drinks at Jimmy's. Unofficially, we'll try to have the lot coned off around 2. Happy hour anyone? Bring your ride out early!

Again, this is a charity event--for every person we bring out we get $$!

And if you're from out of town... you may consider coming in--this is getting fun!

Thanks to everyone making it out last Thursday night... looks like we're going to Cruise Ins every other Thursday... next on Thurdsay, July 5... so keep it on you calendars... Not going to have the Indy Cars back though--maybe you guys can give rides?

Should continue to be a fun CRUISE IN throughout the summer--we're doing it because everyone is demanding it--so THANKS!

Don't know what you all have going on tomorrow night, but stay in the holiday spirit and come out to Jimmy's....

We're doing Cruise Ins now every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month... maybe when we grow up we can even go to weekly....

The quiet word on the street is that Jimmy's is being sold at the end of this month... and we're trying to create a strong presence in the month of July so the new owner 1) let's us continue our fun little evenings and 2) even does a little work to get alcohol permits for the parking lot.

So come out Thursday night to hang out and meet up with everyone... no Canadian Club F1 cars, but a beautiful patio and Corona in July.
