My votex skirts should coming in the mail pretty soon here. I can't decide if I should spray them a flat black, or color match them uni-black. My front lip is beat up and it needs a respray as well. It would be a lot easier/cheaper for me to do the flat black since I have access to a paint booth. Would it look good to do the GLI front/rear lip and Votex skirts all in a flat black, as well as the grill and trunk emblem?
My problem is the lip takes a serious beating in Iowa City, and could use a respray at least twice a year. It would be a lot more cost effective to go flat black. Plus my car needs a little contrast with all the black I have.
Give me some suggestions here on what I should do. Thanks!!
And pictures so you have an idea.

^^ I agree you won't be able to tell until you're right up on the car.

Personal preference man. Spray em flat and if you don't like them just spray them UB.

yeah! flat black...if its cheaper anyways...you can just see what it looks like and then if it doesnt look good, then just repaint

I think you guys are right...you won't really be able to tell.
Tomorrow the front lip is coming off for sanding, i'm tempted to fill in the outter holes on the lip as well :D
Frontal shot of the GLI lip? Which holes are you talking about?
I think flat black will look good though. That's basically how my car is right now. I just need the OEM textured sides. Plus like you said, when you have to repaint em as often as you do, might as well make it easy on yourself. :tu:

IMO paint matching them UB will be cleaner.
I guess it depends on how 'flat' the flat black will be.
Not a big deal you can always paint it if you dont like it :)

Spray black primer, see how it looks... then if you like it keep it, if not then they're primed and ready for paint.
To be honest I'm a little shocked that you wanna leave them flat finish in contrast to your gli lip, but most everyone seems to like it so maybe I'm just an odd one out on this one.

I would say match it with the rest of the car, but then again, it's only my .02! :D
BTW...your ride has a crazy looking stance! I love it!
