Ah, yes the infamous Polo commercial...kinda disturbed me when I first saw it!

I'm trying to find the only W8 commercial I've ever seen (maybe even the only one made) where the kid and the guy driving the W8 are racing each other down the street. It's pretty funny and hard to come by.

my favorites are those where people drive and then get hit all of a sudden. I like to get scared occasionaly. Granted, they don't surprise you the second time, but first timers who see iy sure do jump from their seat a little.

When people ask what my license plate means, I try explaining that it's from the VW GTI commercial, but everyone that I try to explain it to give me the same, blank stare like, "what commercial?" <<Sigh>>. Oh well. :) :)

My challenge to the collective 'net search skills of Projekt German:

Find me the video of the ORIGINAL VW GTI commercial in the US. I've looked for this damn thing for a very long time, and have posted the request on several sites. For those of you youngsters who were never blessed with this commercial, it is from 1982-1983 and the music is to the song "'Lil GTO", but the title of the song is "Kline GTI" (sp?).

I distinctively remember watching this commercial on the living room floor of the house I grew up in when I was about 14 thinking: " there is no was in hell I would spend $10,000 on a VW!" Well, 12 VW's, and a collective purchase of well over $100K later, here I am still searching for this damn commercial.

My birthday was this week folks. Find me this damn commercial and make it the best birthday present I've received in a long time. Please!
