Not sure about brands, but if you haven't thought of it already, I would lighten up the flywheel a bit before you bolt it all back together! :tu:

I've always heard good stuff about these guys:

Sachs Borg & Beck Clutch Kit - Mk3 Golf/Jetta - for 2.0 litre 8v 1994½-98 (210mm)

K7012803 $249.95

You can find it here:

I'm running the sachs stage two clutch and 14lb steel flywheel (VR6 228mm). They are good kits from my experience. Only thing is, don't go to lightweight on the flywheel, I had a 7lb. aluminum before and it had a little bit of chatter to it.

This is on an MKIV as well, but it might still help ya hopefully :tu: :tu:

Looks like you should get the vr clutch. I have a newer clutch on my car, and was wondering what you guys experienced by lightening the flywheel? I know in neutral it will rev up & wind down quicker, but did you notice much better acceleration?? BTW I have a sachs clutch, and it doesn't slip...

blaujetta, with all your mods (if DSV doesn't end up getting some)

you should sell your ride on the vortex... or trade it for a mildly-modded mk4! If that's your taste... if not then :finger:

I love the mkV gti... I just know that dealerships, as opposed to other dubbers, will not at all consider any of your mods as adding value to the car, it's just more for them to worry about when they wanna sell it. You could get a lot outta your ride tho, it's nice :tu:

It's possible I could trade you some stock parts and cash for some stuff, but I just don't know how much I could afford. For example, if you could get a stock suspension back under the car, that would help in terms of trading it in and then you could sell the Weitecs on Vortex. The same goes for the wheels. If you got some stockers back on the car they'd probably give you a better deal on trade in, etc.

That way you could still get money out of some of the parts and not just lose all the extra cash put into the car by trading it in with aftermarket parts still on it.

^^ Probably the best route, $$$-wise that is, you'd get about 50-75% of what you paid for the aftermarket parts, + the trade-in value...

That would be more time-consuming, but if you consider the fact that you'd be paying yourself for doing it....

yeah i know... just gotta come up with the time to do it.... just shoot me some offers on things... im pretty easy to work with... especially when it comes to money haha
