This is one very odd issue. Sometimes if I start my car after its been sitting a while the HVAC and turn signals don't work (more things might not). If I restart the car they work fine...
I really have no clue what this could be - maybe a relay? Ideas?

That's really odd. Can you describe this in any more detail?

X-relay? Maybe... More likely is that your ignition switch isn't returning to the "run" position. Next time it happens, try giggling the key a bit w/o shutting the engine off to see if you can get them running.

might sound kind of silly but... pull the fuses and relays out one at a time .. clean the contacts and re-install them.. might help since it is an intermittent problem... if that doesnt do it I would probably say relays next since they really should be that expensive.. after that its on to your actual HVAC controls... or the ignition switch.. (*edited* after vwmeisters post.. spaced that one off) :computer:

Ingition switch is a VERY good point in the right direction, but WyTTraven has a good point too, if your fuses/relays are dirty or have been exposed to moisture I think that would be a good idea to check em out...

Ohh yeah the ignition switch might be the culprit. I know there's a recent recall for them. I'll wait to see if it happens again and try the key wiggling.
I really can't for the life of me describe the problem any better - I know thats sad but I've never seen anything like it...
