I bought the FK HighTek 60/40 Cup Kit from AMI Motorsports (http://www.amimotorsports.com) for $520 shipped. He said it should arrive in 4-5 business days. If it gets here by this weekend I may install it on Sunday. :D

I can't wait to get low! :tu:

Does the MKIII require any specialty tools? If you need anything (low profile jack + side lift jack pad, spindle spreader tool, electric impact wrench, etc...) let me know, I added quite a few tools to my garage when I was preparing for my install. :tu:

I can't wait either. Lowered Mk3s are what hooked me on Volkswagens... :D

Nice mike! but my 60/40 is on the way lol :) I personally would like to have the back be 60 too, I think on my car there is too much rake. 50 would be perfect in the rear. Can't wait to see it!

Does your kit have adjustable perches in the rear? I know the FK cup kit allows you to adjust the height of the rear springs. I like the raked look. ;) Plus, the last suspension I had with an equal drop all around actually gave the car a reverse rake...lol

If we could just skip paying rent for a month I could have enough to buy the wheels. Maybe Stef and I can just live out of the Jetta for a month? Kinda like that "7 days in a Sentra" commercial but for an entire month, lol

I'll have to check that out Mike, they very well could be adjustable.

It sounds like an electric impact wrench will be quite handy when taking off the top strut nuts.

Tonight I also ordered new heavy duty strut mounts for the front and polyurethane strut bushings for the rear from German Auto Parts (http://www.germanautoparts.com).

^ Yeah, I got a lot of practice in my lowered Civic and Cavalier.

BTW, strut mounts and poly strut bushings will be here on Friday. Still tracking the cup kit. It hasn't been updated in a day or so, but it is coming from Canada. No expected delivery date listed. :td:

Giant plate of steel to bolt to the underside? That way when I scrape I'll spark. :D

DieselGeek may not carry them for Mk3s but I've seen other companies that do.

Yeah, I know what you mean about parking spots. I already park like 2 feet away from curbs and parking blocks, lol.

About that old thread, you mean this one?

Congrats Mike, but I think you really should have held out for some coilovers!! I talked to a shop today that told me they'd get my car on the rack to align it however low I want to go with it! But I have to wait a few weeks until my buddy gets back from vacation.

Eh, I didn't want coilovers. I don't need the adjustability factor. The 60/40 kit will be a great drop and ride for the price. I couldn't justify spending at least twice as much just to be able to drop it a little bit lower and to be able to change the ride height back and forth. I'd set it once and forget it anyways, so we not go with a tried and true cup kit from a quality company like FK.

I'm getting excited for everything to arrive. :tu: I'll need to find a shop to align it afterwards as well.
