cleaning KooK's mess....

kook had a bad experience with his not-so shiney monkey wax that left horrifying swirl marks, so since i needed some work done on my VW, we traded cars this week while each of us did what we do best -- so i did a complete detail on his 9-3 Viggen: interior clean & protect, carpet shampoo, leather clean & recondition, complete exterior hand wash and strip of the exterior wax with compound, then a fresh coat of 3M wax with a buffer

Oh my god, did you have to advertise the before picture of the hood?

I've never had a wax screw a car up so badly. It looked ok after it was done, but after the first rain, I saw the hood and my jaw just dropped. Called up TJ and said "Yeah, you wanna help me out a bit? I'm dropping my car off next week." Called him back later "scratch that, I'll be over tomorrow."

I have a buffer if you ever need to borrow it Mike. I do the three step from Mequires. Haven't waxed or buffed the new car yet. I needed to find out if they put any kind of paint protectant on my car first. I heard you have to wait a while before you can do the first wax job if there is protectant on the car.

I'm really impressed with how that paint looks afterwards. I washed my car the other day and I was happy with how it looked when I was done. So I took a drive down the highway to dry her off and got out to take a look and it looked like total sh#t in the sun!!! If only there was more time in the day...

the Saab cleaned up so well, yesterday I decided to take some glamor shots before delivering it back to KooK last night, and damn does this car photograph well. i should do photo shoots for car mags :rolleyes:

i'm shocked how good this wax is --- this is how good this car looked after it sat outside thursday night and got rained on :eek: - no water spots!! :D

I love Saabs :tu: KooK -- if you need work done, a possible hook-up on OEM parts, etc I have two friends who are service techs at the Saab dealership just south of Iowa City. Let me know and I'll see if they can do anything :)
