1996 MK3 Jetta
-OBD2 ABA 2.0L 8v
-5 speed--207,XXX miles
-Candy White
-Power sunroof
-Power windows
-Power locks
-Tilt steering
Clean and OEM+. Great all around car. I'm moving on to a different DD and this has got to sell to help pay for some of it. This car runs and drives GREAT- no shifting issues in any gear. I could drive it across the country and back no problem. Oil & filter changed every 5-6k with full synthetic Mobil1 5w30. Clutch does not slip, but has to have been replaced at some time in it's life due to the miles, but the P.O. didn't know when it was replaced. It doesn't leak anything. ALWAYS gets a consistent 28-33 MPG city/highway combined. I've never calculated the gas mileage at being below 28MPG in my entire ownership of the car. In the last year I've easily put more money in parts than the purchase price into this car, which was at book value.
Maintenance items (all were brand new) I have personally done within the last year:
-Timing belt tensioner & stud/nut
-Timing belt
-Serpentine belt
-V belt
-Waterpump/gasket
-Thermostat/gasket
-Coolant expansion tank/cap
-Coolant neck w/ o-ring on driver's side of head
-Heater core
-NGK platinum spark plugs
-Distributor cap & rotor
-K&N drop in OEM style panel air filter
-Cleaned throttle body
-OEM TDI HD rubber motor mounts with urethane-filled holes
-OEM G60 HD rubber trans mount
-OEM Bosch front O2 sensor
-OEM Bosch fuel filter
-OEM door handle seals all around
-Rear drivers side window regulator
-E-brake cables
-OEM manual clutch cable
-HD rubber suspension mounts/bushings all around
Modifications I have done, or had done, in the last year:
-Shaved/repainted trunk lid
-OEM early style 2-piece jetta grille (can have the original later style grille if desired)
-Ecode headlights
-Supersport cup kit (5-10k on suspension)
-7/10 condition wolfsburg seats front & rear
-35% tint all around
-Smoked/red GLX tails
-Smoked front bumper side markers
-Dash cluster- orange needles, white LED lighting
-OEM fog lights- 100% installed as if from the factory.
-Disabled daytime running lights
-Removed the bottom portion of the stock airbox
-Downpipe heat shield removed
-Exhaust manifold heater box / heat shield removed
-Catalytic converter removed
-Resonator removed
-Magnaflow XL rear muffler
The Bad:
-CEL is on for the cat delete- I can get it scanned again to see if anything else pops up.
-Airbag light turned on for no reason within the last few weeks- I have no idea why, it's never been on before. I will look into this.
-Has some rust on front of passenger side front door, and both rockers are not very good on the bottoms. The strut tower rust hole the rust on the rear wheel well can be fixed before the sale for extra $$$.
-The engine burns a small amount of oil that you can sometimes smell while driving and coming to a stop with the windows down, but even at the oil change intervals, it's an immeasurable amount. I'm guessing it's probably the valve seals, but because of the very little amount, it hasn't worried me.
-Cruise control does not work- I haven't tried to diagnose the problem since it hasn't bothered me.
-Fender antenna was broken off while fully extended. The radio still has decent reception with whatever remains.
-Rear passenger window regulator went out so I replaced it with a manual crank regulator for because I had one and put a small hole in the door card for the crank.
-Has a small exhaust leak at the rear O2 bung and just needs spot welded to fix.
-Rear trunk key has never worked; I just pop the release in the center console and it works every time.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Any of the "bad" can be addressed, I'm just putting it out there as is, first.

would also entertain partial trades for b6 a4 1.8t parts, mk4 vr6 turbo parts, or 5x112 winter wheel/tire setup!
