Waterfest® 13 will be held on July 21st & 22nd, 2007 at Raceway Park Raceway Park facility in Englishtown, New Jersey!

Waterfest® is the largest VW/Audi Car Show and Motorsport event in North America, and the second largest of its kind in the world.

Waterfest® features the following Events:
* Show Car
* Drag Race (¼ Mile)
* Autocross
* Sound Off
* Tire Burnout Contest – (Fan Favorite!)
* Autocross School
* Exhibition – Display cars that are not judged

Waterfest® 12 (2006) has an expected total attendance of over 20,000 including over 2,500 participants.

There were also over 125 Sponsors/Vendors occupying over ¾ of a mile of display space at last year’s event.

New Jersey is a DAMN long ways away, eek. Otherwise I'd be in. Plus I'm trying to save my PTO (paid time off) days.

it is a good ways away, its like 18 hours to my house from ames and prolly 20 hours to nj from ames, but its a two day even and it is huge and full of vw and audi, pretty sweet. oh and good deals on parts

I am going. I just have to figure out how to convince the wife to go. Maybe if some of the other ladies were going, they could hang out together...go shopping or something. She could care less about the whole waterfest. If not then I guess I go by myself.

1,125 miles from Des Moines and a 17.5 hour drive. What is the plan for driving out there? Stretch it out between Thursday and Friday? The event is on Saturday and Sunday, which is fine, but figuring in the drive time could be a big factor for people.

When I was young I used to make the trek back home to Texas in one looong drive. Not going to do that with this trip. I am trying to convince her that it would be cool....stop at cool places along the way....maybe go all the way to see the World Trade Center site. She is tossing it around since the kids would have to go. I know one thing...she would want to tow the GTI there so she could drive the SUV to where ever she wanted to go. Kinda seems like a pain to me, but keeps the miles off of the GTI and it is one of the reasons we bought the Envoy.

Have they officially set that date for this year? The last we knew the website hadn't been updated from the previous year.

Waterfest (Englishtown, NJ) is about 1,125 miles and 17.5 hours from Des Moines. I'm thinking I would leave on Thursday night and plan on arriving sometime on Friday afternoon/evening.

Right now I'm leaning towards taking Friday (20th) and Monday (23rd) off. Anyone else feeling serious about going?
