I've bought a 95 Golf 4 dr. It runs AWESOME! It has TT 268 cam, chipped, SuperSprint? exhaust, Wietec coilovers, VR6 leather interior. It also came with a set of Recaro Trophies!! SO those will be getting MKII sliders for my Rocco after getting the centers recovered. It has the 2.0L 8V and a 2Y tranny. I'll be looking for a little taller 5th eventually, but damn its a fun car with that tranny!! So I have 2 VW's and in a few weeks both of my Chevy's will be gone too. So I will be all VW!
Here's the pics:

After hunting for a few months I foud it on VOrtex. And about a month and a half of trying to get organized and have someone closer take a first look for me so it wasn't a wasted trip. It's now said and done and ready to get more work done to it!!!

I don't like the hatch, but everthing else is cool. Throw a set of wheels on in and it'll be tits.
Rhett, welcome to PKG and the world of Mk3s! Looks like you got an awesome deal on that car. I need to come check it out some time and see how that TT 268 cam feels. I'm itching to get a cam for my car.
Whoah, I just looked at the pictures and saw the rear shaved hatch and Sparco fuel filling door. That thing has a lot of stuff done to it. Best of luck with the new car. :tu:

Looks like quite the project you got there. Good luck. Might want to clean up some of the wire mess in the engine bay and get the rust fixed pronto. Other than that not bad. Welcome to the group and bring it out Sat.

I'll probably have another Chev down the road but the VW is more efficient for my uses currently. And I'm pretty sure I can stuff all my DJ equipment in it. I need to put a new clutch cable in it pronto before much other work starts, but it will all be coming together soon.

I pulled some trim off and ran my amp wiring tonight. I have to install a ground yet and then its time for some extra equipment. This is my DD, so its gotta have good tunes!! I'll be upgrading from the infinity's that are up front eventually to Elemental Design 6500 components and probably 6100's for the rear doors. Window tint is the next thing on the list after I get my amp and sub in. But I also have to finish getting my Z24 ready for its buyer by Friday night.

We are getting a deal on window tint from a good shop down in Ankeny. Check out the Tint & Tattoo GTG (http://forums.projektgerman.com/showthread.php?t=595) thread for more details. :tu:

I'm going to give it a shot myself since I spent most of my money on buying the car. I have a couple rolls of tint already anyways.

Yeah, Rhett works at the Advanced in Ames. I just saw it there this morning as well. Had to take Stef to Ames for a final.
I didn't notice it had the front bumper lights shaved off until today. Very clean looking. :tu:

Yeah, I work at Advance. Was putting in some OT today, kinda sucks cause I need to get some car work done too, but the $$ will help!
The antenna is frenched into the fender too. Not sure if I like it yet though. The only unmodded exterior is the door handles. I need to get the front turns mounted under the bumper.
I did get the clutch cable fixed. It works a lot better when the rubber insulator is BELOW the clutch lever.
Glad to hear you got it fixed. :tu:

Got my plates today! So I'm as legal as the car currently gets. Now I need to make my custom plate light. It has a Porsche flat mount for the plate but no light.

You might be able to get away without the light for a bit.

I'm currently working on a light cover that will house my 2 LED's and look decent on the car also. If it turns out horrible I have a plate frame I can cut up and use instead.

More work on the light thing today. Pics when I'm not too lazy to take some.
I thought I might mention the name I actually gave the car too. I named it the Black Pearl. I kind of actually fits too, but tis really only the second of 14 cars of mine to get a real name.
Anxious to see pictures of the projekt you're working on for the lights. :tu:
I like the Black Pearl. Makes me think of Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp though, lol.

Yeah, but I can kinda look Orlando-ish can't I??
