I wish the before pictures of the swirl marks and **** would have turned out...oh well, here we go

Products Used (exterior only):
Purple Power Degreaser (5:1 solvent mixed 5 water 1 Purlple)
P21s Wheel Cleaner
Meguiars Gold Shampoo & Conditioner
Ceneille Microfiber Wash mit
Absorber Drying Towel
Meguairs Clay bar (non-abrasive)
Meguairs Instant Detailer (I believe it's called showtime shine or some bull****)
5 gallon bucket
Autogeek.net Grit gard (You should have bought one like,basically....yesterday, awesome product)
Microfiber cloths, lots of different ones ( i used roughly 30 in all to prevent cross product contamination)
Eagle one Wet Tire Shine (damnit, it's a dressing and it's what I have available)
Mothers Back to Black Trim/bumper Restore (use it with your finger or with a small fine too nylon brush)
Pinnacle XMT 1
Pinnacle XMT 3
Pinnacle XMT Glaze (smells like grapes and I love it to death)
Pinnacle Pad conditioner and Pinnacle pad cleaner
P21s Wax (awesome **** if you don't have it you should buy, now!...immediately, works almost as good as the 70 dollar pinnacle sov. and goes on and off like a lightswitch, or you can pay me to do it for you)
3m Machine Polish
3m Swirl Mark Remover (for dark colored vehicles)
Stoner Invisible Glass (if you use something else you're not being an intelligent consumer)
Mother's Aluminum polish
Random brushes ( i advise all of you to buy every non-marring detail brush you can get your hands on)
Porter Cable 7424 with 5.5 hook/loop Xtreme backing plate
Lake Country CCS pads 6 inch (used yellow briefly (cuts too hard), orange, white, black and blue. Also Lake Country lambs wool leveling pad and Lake country microfiber 6 inch mits for 7424
As always, hopes, dreams, and coors light during the final stages (I'm sure I forgot half of the **** I used)

1993 Ford Probe GT
J-Spec KLZE 2.5L V6 swap
Hotshot Headers
Hotshot Intake
Apexi Dunk Header back exhaust w/ cat delete
Fidanza Flywheel 9 lb Flywheel
Clutchmasters stage III clutch
RR-Racing Motor/tranny mounts
KYB Struts
Eibach Springs (I think?)
Some kind of light weight racing wheels (why list any non-go fast ****? it has a lot of other mods (way too many to list) that have nothing to do with getting tickets/thrown in jail)

Here's some pics..
Before...

Here's what we used on wheels today (ignore the stoner invisible glass)

Lettin the wheel soak before the wipe down/rinse

After the wash... After the rim cleaning/prepping/waxing, and after the dressings

Here's the dirty (before) pic just for reference

So then I pulled her in (pgt) so that she could be clayed and polished/glazed/waxed
http://www.audizine.com/gallery/data/500/738DSC00014-med.JPG
She looks kinda ehhh here. Lots of neglected paint over the years (spiderwebs, micromarring and hairline scrathing from improper washing/drying technique) and from not being driven (damint keith put some miles on her)

Stage I clay and diagnosis

Dan maybe you could help me with my car? I polished it with anthem this weekend but it did not get the surface scratches off. I even used an orbital buffer. AFTER this coming week of rain-ness though... interested in showing me how to detail?? I have all the buffing and wax products to bring.

With the amount of detail guys on here I think a Detail thread would be a good idea. That way you guys could share ideas and stuff.

Yeah some categories in "Auto Chit Chat" might be a good idea:

exterior
interior
engine bay
lighting
electronics

?? Some thoughts ??

Great idea loccusst.

I like reading the most current posts but every post not on the front page of the forums dies, it's easier to keep up on stuff if it's easier to find!

BTW this forum has been getting alot busier in the last 2 weeks.... eurotuner....;)

We could sticky a Detailing thread, but we just aren't at the point to have a whole detailing subforum.

I will be doing 2 cars this saturday (5.0 Mustang modded, 2006 grand prix). I am doing 4 vehicles (full out) for a limosine company the next 2 weeks and am booked with another client for saturday the 19th. Be a couple of weeks before I could help ya out. But since you're a forum member, case of beer is all I'll ask for if you're bringing supplies. An Orbital is too abraisive for most cars. Plus, 90 percent of the people that own them don't know what they hell they're doing or even what a REAL orbital buffer is (multiple speed, non agitating, makita, dewalt, milwaukee, etc....). With a Porter Cable 7424 (Dual Action, adjustable speed) and the correct polish, pad combo I can do a damn good job. I rarely ever have to take my obrital out of it's box (it's up in my storage area currently.lol

^^Geez I bet mine is a piece then... I spent maybe $30 on it...

So if I bring wax, polish, etc. and of course an ice cold 24 you can show me how to restore the finish? Send me an IM if you want to work out a time or something.

Im guessing you have an actual "orbital" then. Not what's actually called a variable speed Rotary. Mine's a makita and it cost me about 350. my favorite tool (pc7424) only runs about 150 but then you still need pads, adapter plates, etc.....
