New from the QC Area

Heyah guys! I'm new on the forums, I'm from the Quad Cities area, used to be from Burlington, good ol eastern/southeastern Iowa.. but I used to live up in Des Moines as well for a couple of years.

Long story short, as I see I'm not the first one, I caught up with this jazz in my Eurotuner :) Nice to see some action in Iowa, i didn't think there was much out there!!

My current car is an 02 GTI 5spd.. I've only had it for a coupla weeks after getting rid of my chopshop 95 VR6 passat.. Long story. Before that I had a 99.5 Jetta 2.slow.

here's the fast.. haven't done anything to it yet, as much as I want to..

And here's me with my 2.slow that had an automatic tranny stuck in third gear.. somehow that piece of crap never killed my love for dubs..

I don't want to be the naysayer already, but that's not a 337. 337 options are as follows:

ALL are reflex silver
NO sunroof
Sport suspension
6 Speed
BBS RC shot peened wheels
Lip Kit

No kidding? I kept second guessing it, because it is not a 6 speed. That in itself made me go, WTF?

But I had assumed since it is reported as a 337 on the carfax and everything. Guess they ****ed up somewhere ;)

But heck, nothing like making an ass out of myself first post!!! :D

Dont forget about my suspension install GTG! It is happening the same day as Cadwiz's bday party, but we are doing suspension early on (10 am) so we can get done and get to the bday bash.

Welcome to the site! It's nice to see that our feature in Eurotuner is roping some new people in. We've got some members over in the QCA so I'm sure it won't be long before you meet a few of us.

Also, since you said you are a tattoo artist, you might be interested in our Tint and Tattoo GTG (http://forums.projektgerman.com/showthread.php?t=595) on Saturday, May 19th up in Ankeny. We've got several people signed up to get their windows tinted at R&T Performance Glass while others are getting some tattoos done at Blvd Ink.

I'm Nathan, Prez-O-Dent of QC V-DUBS. Glad to see there is another dubber in the Q-C area. I am in the process of planning another GTG, but it will probably be on a small scale as there are a bunch of events coming up.

Post up a few more pics of your GTI and let's see what ya got! By the way, a 95 Passat is one of my major influences that got me into VW's.

i'll have to take and post more pictures of it when I give it a good buff job and get new tint on it.. spent a good chunk of last saturday removing the old mirrored gross stuff that came on it when i bought it. the cutplotter was all acting up so we weren't able to cut anything out and i wasn't about the handcut the tint.. :td:

but i'll get some up when it's sunny and looking a little bit better :D

... going back to the whole 337 mess up. Every mkIV Gti is titled GTI/337, or at least mine is too.
