View Full Version : Interior water leak

So i got into my car (20th) today after work, and my driver side floor mat was soaked...

windows were up and everything so i'm leaking somewhere. Looked as if it was comming in somewhere around the botton of the fuse box and around the handle to pop the hood. Anyone know of anything like this or if its common or a fix?

check sunroof drains maybe or else check you rain tray to see if the drains are clogged

Check your sunroof drains. There was a recall for Passats due to water coming into the interior due to clogged drains. It might be a across-the-board VW recall too. It's worth checking into.

EDIT: Damnit Andy, you beat me to it. lol

Ya I just got a thing in the mail about a month ago letting anyone that has an A4, S4, S6, RS6, A6, or passat 97 and up that they revised the maintenece schedule with that drain thing that gets clogged. If you had to pay out of your pocket cause of any damage or anything like carpet, ecu, ect...there was a court date to show up for somewhere in new york later this summer and make your claim. I'm thinking about having mine serviced sometime here soon just so i don't have to worry about that crap ever happening. unless anybody knows what you're exactally supposed to do on pkg here?

i got a sun roof drain notice for my MKV too, Mike just have Andy take a look at it, he is a MASTER of sunroofs leaking and not fitting right

Got a sunroof recall notice for my MKIV in the mail a few weeks ago too. But I haven't even owned that car for 3 years.

when I dropped the headliner, 2/4 of my mk4 sunroof drains were unhooked from the sunroof tray due to poorly designed connectors. I had evidence of it on the headliner with discoloration though, no water on the floor. Your drains are at the a and c pillars. The front drain tubes dump out in the top of the doorjamb and look like little black whale vaginas.

my rain tray was pretty clogged up, il have to see if that did anything, if not.. il be comming to you andy to check out the sunroof.
