Hid should be less heat omitting then halogen.. What wattage is your hid kit 35w of 55w? Also there are 4 types of headlights:
1. HID projectors (eg:ds2)
2. HID reflectors (eg: prius, maxima)
3. Halogen projectors (older audi, some jetta's, use same bulbs as below)
4. halogen reflectors (most other cars h1, h3, 9004, 9006, 9005 ...)
Halogen beam patterns are made more like a flash light consolidating a smaller amount of light into one spot. Hid projectors take a large amount of light and spread it over a larger surface.. eg diffusing the light... All projectors are not the same... Look at what the bulb size is to figure out what type of projector it is.
By the way it really pisses me off when people put Hid inside halogen projectors. The bean pattern is to condensed and is technically illegal. But do as you will. I can try to help you out as much as I can. I am pretty knowledgeable about head lights and have custom built my own...
Although I am a hypocrite and have 55w 3500k HID in my fog lights... :(

well the houseing was set up with the h3 buld i think but the hid conversions popped right in place and its super bright! they have a really good cut off but they r angled up high on the right side. my civics projectors were the same so i kinda assumed that they were ment 2 be like that for the road signs or somethin

You should have a straight across cutoff. There are DIY's for aiming projectors online. Mostly what you need is perfectly flat/level ground and a flat wall in front of you.
That sign you're lighting up on the side could also be the rear view mirror of someone you're passing. ;)

well the cutoff from left to most the way on the right side is perfectly flat but both have the same pitch where it goes up a bit. i might have 2 take pics tonight of how they look from the inside of my car

Oh ok yeah that is a RHD style cutoff. That should be that way... my bad I misread.

Agreed.. OEM projector retros are cool. Major PITA.. I currently have 20 hours on mine and they are currently not on the car

Agree. The HID won't do anything with your aftermarket car parts (www.drivewire.com/) or on your headlight. You don't need to worry anything.
